about

TROMSØ HARDCORE
1998-2010

Established in 1998 by Carl Christian Lein Størmer and the brothers Juhani and Timo Silvola, at the time 14-16 years old.

Initially they cultivated an eclectic and mindboggling musical mix of anything from thrash metal, hardcore, disco and even jazz, with Halvard Rundberg on sax and singer Lein Størmer even playing flute.

Released their debut EP "INTIMATE NOISE" in 2001, of which 50% of the songs were a collaboration with sami artist Lawra Somby (later of Adjagas).

While working on their debut full lenght they released "The Bonfire Sessions" (now with drummer Paulo Velasquez and bassist Aleksander Johanessen), now with a more melodic and post-hardcore orientated sound.

The debut LP "HERE GOES!" was released in 2004 to rave reviews and even hints of mainstream attention and touring in Norway proceeded.

Their second album "ROCKCOLLAPSE" (helmed by producer Tommy Hjelm) came out in 2007, and saw the band taking a more aggressive turn, the album was named one of the best Norwegian albums to ever come out by Scandinavian Rock magazine. In the wake of that release touring across the world proceeed, including their first US tour in 2007, a 2 month stretch which led them to the legendary Blasting Room Studios, where they connected with producer Jason Livermore, recorded 4 songs initially and went back the next year to complete their final album "AT THE END OF THE DAY" (2010). The band proceeded to tour extensively in 2008 (several US tours, Russia, China, Japan, Europe) and played their last show in Tokyo in december 2010.

.................

Band members have later been/are currently involved in such wide spread acts such as DIE A LEGEND, Cazadores, Kamikaze a Go Go, Barren Womb, F.A.C.E., Like Rats From A Sinking Ship, The Replaceable Heads, 1997, Violet Road and more.

A concert film, directed by vocalist Carl Chr Lein Størmer and based on recently appeared lost archival footage, "TURDUS MUSICUS Live in Zhenjiang", depicting and reflecting on their appearance on the MIDI festival in China in 2009 is due for online release in 2015.
